Happy Anniversary in NYC!

Sean surprised me with a trip to NYC to celebrate our 9 year Anniversary! 9 years. Holy cow. He definitely earned brownie points for being so thoughtful. We had originally planned our couple's trip before the baby to be his annual work trip that was supposed to be in Coeur d'Alene, ID in June. Then he found out that they switched it to Las Vegas, NV in the middle of JULY (can you say hot!) just a month before the baby is due. Sounds totally miserable to me. So...being the thoughtful guy he is he decided to surprise me with a trip that was 1) somewhere I have wanted to go forever, and 2) during a time in my pregnancy when I wouldn't be terribly uncomfortable to travel and do so much walking.
Love him.

We left the morning after our Anniversary so we celebrated together as a family that night by going out to dinner and then staying up late packing.

*We just LOVE our little people!*

My sweet mother-in-law and sister took the kiddos for us while we were away. We were so grateful :-)

Our flight left at 6am so it was an *early* morning.  We "slept" (as well as you sleep on an airplane) the whole way, had a short layover, and shouted "Hooray" when the big city came into view.  The pregnancy cankles had already begun from traveling so I was ready to get off that plane and explore the sights!

After some drama with the hotel room we finally hit the subway and headed to Times Square for the night...

We ate some uber delicious BBQ at Virgil's Real Barbecue. Super yum and super messy just the way BBQ should be ;-)

Then we raced to our first Broadway. I let Sean pick what he wanted to see and was surprised that he picked Mama Mia. We loved it. It's cheesy but fun, and who doesn't love the music?! The cankles got worse with all the sitting, but it was worth it.

When we came out of the theater it was F.R.E.E.Z.I.N.G. Freezing! We finished up the night with a trip to the Shake Shack and then raced back to the hotel to warm up and catch a few hours of sleep before our early morning start for Day 2 in NYC!
