Adelyn Jade

It's been several months since I did an update on Adelyn so here goes...

Adelyn is almost 16 months. In the last month or so it seems like she has been learning and growing at warp speed! She is a total crack up. Sean and I decided she is the perfect mixture of sassy and sweet. Here are a few tidbits about our little gal...

She is quick to SMILE and will give you big cheesy grins whenever she sees the camera aimed at her.

We love her HAIR! It's turning into a dark strawberry blonde and is growing a ton. It can have a little bit of a curl to it and she can now sport pigtails, a ponytail, and some pretty awesome morning hair!

She loves Ryker, but also has learned how to TEASE him and push his buttons! She will take his toys and run away from him, pull his hair, bite him on occasion, and scream at him. It's annoying, but also a little hilarious.

She is SO INDEPENDENT! She has to walk everywhere. If you pick her up she fights and screams to get out of your arms.

We think she has good MANNERS. She says please (pees) and thank you (tanks) almost always. She will ask for help (hep please) and loves to be a helper around the house too.

I love watching her during PRAYERS. She folds her arms like this or just clasps her little hands under her chin. Then, she will start to mumble as if she is the one saying the prayer. Then she says, "men" at the end for "amen".

I think her #1 favorite thing to do right now is be READ to. She follows me around with books all day long saying "ead me?, ead me?" (read me?). It's adorable and terribly annoying at the same time.

She is the most sassy when she is TEETHING, and she's been doing a lot of that lately.

She loves to show her LOVE by giving kisses, "pat, pat, pats" and cheek-to-cheek.

She has started to really FIGHT her brace on occasion. It hurts badly to be kicked with it!

She still has her evil SCREAM. You never know when it's coming because it is so instant and ear piercing.

She loves real ANIMALS and stuffed animals. If you happen to walk by stuffed animals in a store she becomes obsessed. She has to hold as many as she can, giving them each a kiss and saying "coot" (cute) over and over again. Her arms will be so full she will drop one, bend down to pick it up only to drop another, and repeat this cycle over and over. Then when you take her away she will throw a wicked fit until you distract her.

She is usually very easily CONSOLABLE. If she is upset you just have to distract her with a snack, toy, book...and she snaps right out of it. Sometimes all I have to do to distract her is gasp and say "Wow, look" and point to something. Now she walks around gasping at things saying "Wow".

Off the top of my head she can SAY mama, dada, more (mo), please (pees), thank you (tanks), dog, duck, up, help (hep), read me, (eed me)...and many more words that I do and don't understand! She loves to jabber.

She can SIGN more, milk, food, please, sorry, thank you, dog, bird, duck, lion, water, help, penguin...

She loves to SING and be sung to. She does the actions and sings a few words to Wheels on the Bus, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Old McDonald, Twinkle Twinkle, Fun to Do, Popcorn Popping, ABCs...

She likes to make ANIMAL NOISES. Lion, duck, horse, elephant and bear are among her favorite.

She still is a great EATER but has gotten more picky with vegetables.

She is TOUGH. She likes to play in the dirt, wrestle, run around and get scuffed up knees...she's my kind of gal.

Some of her NICKNAMES are Addy, Addy J, Jadey, and Bug.

What else do YOU think we should remember about Addy?
